Felin Hedd in the heart of the Tregaron and Uplands countryside has its own unique flora and fauna.

On approaching the mill, you may be greeted by some of our rural residents, the chickens, or come across pheasants wandering through the grounds. You will almost certainly also encounter that most iconic of Ceredigion’s birds, the Red Kite, diving overhead, (a conservation success story of which we are truly proud!) or perhaps whilst making use of our local fishing permit you may be lucky enough to catch sight of our otters playing on the banks of the River Teifi, which flows through the site.

We have also discovered, during recent renovations, that there is a community of rare Brown Long Eared Bats  on site, of which you may well catch a glimpse on a summer evening, while you are enjoying the view from the gardens. With many local nature trails, cycling, walking and canoeing routes on the doorstep, Felin Hedd is an ideal base from which to explore or simply observe the local landscape and its wildlife.
